3 Websites With Recipes to Sweeten Your Valentine’s Day

Whether you’re going out with a date or binge-watching Netflix shows alone, it is always a great idea to be prepared for Valentine’s Day. The holiday is synonymous to streets dotted with flowers and heart-shaped balloons, restaurants getting a higher number of reservations, and of course, sweets!

Here are three amazing websites to visit when you’re already hyped up to get ready for Heart’s Day.

Serious Eats

While most couples opt to go on a date at a restaurant, a private one at home can also be as sweet—or even sweeter! Surely, you’d like to take this chance to impress your date. Serious Eats is not just your typical go-to website for recipe ideas. It has informative categories from Cooking Techniques to Equipment. The ability to bake a variety of cookies is impressive but knowing how to make a paper piping bag or choosing the right whisk might be that “extra wink” you need to be Valentine’s Day’s unofficial kitchen boss. Serious Eats has all the information you need not only for every holiday but also for practical purposes.
And if you know your date’s dessert preferences, Serious Eats has a wide “by-ingredient” catalog of recipes, including fruits from letters A (apple) to W (watermelon). It’s the perfect source for the meticulous one who believes that Valentine’s Day is serious business.

Baking is science. What makes Serious Eats stand out from other cooking websites is it’s very science-driven. J. Kenji López-Alt is the chief culinary consultant of Serious Eats and author of the James Beard Award-nominated column “The Food Lab.” In it, he unravels the science of home cooking. At the end of the day, the most important thing about a pastry recipe is it has to work in an in-home setting.

Chocolate Covered Katie

During the past decade, there’s been an increase in health awareness. People now seem to be wearing an invisible badge on their shirts saying, “I am proud to be vegan,” or “I’m trying to be healthier this year,” and there’s no turning back for sure. Even social platforms like Instagram and Tumblr are brimming with fitness-related posts.
Who says sweets are not for the health-conscious? Katie has an amazing blog full of carefully-thought recipes from Keto Ice Cream to Vegan Pecan Pie. Healthy drinks like the Pink Energizer Smoothie and Green Lemonade can also be found on her website.

Whatever you wish to bake and eat on Valentine’s Day, it is always wiser to choose healthier options. Can I also just mention that her blog name is so relatable?

The Spruce Eats

The Spruce Eats is one of the cleanest and most user-friendly food websites I have come across so far. Thumbnails occupy the homepage, each with a time and category tag making it faster for readers to find what they need. Every recipe also comes with a nutritional guideline for the health-conscious ones. It’s the perfect site for those who are in a hurry to come up with a Valentine’s Day plan.
The Sweetheart Cinnamon Rolls may be what you need to be extra expressive on that day. Of course, let’s not forget the cocktails such as the Cranberry Elderflower Champagne Punch, or for something pink, there’s the Blushing Geisha Cocktail.

So what’s your Valentine’s Day plan? Are you going out on a date, having a party with your single friends, or spending time with family?
It doesn’t have to be hard to plan for Valentine’s Day. Your favorite restaurant is fully-booked on the 14th? That’s okay. Decorate your balcony, bring out the fairy lights, set the table, and fill the wine glasses. Staying away from the crowd may be your best option; it gives privacy and leaves more room to share an intimate conversation. Watch the night view with your special someone and end it with some wine. And if you are single, it’s the best time to show yourself some love. Light the candles, play some soft jazz music in the background, and dance behind the curtains. You can also invite your friends over for a movie date with some baking and cooking sessions in between.

Spread the love; Valentine’s Day is for everyone.

If You Could Do So, How Would You Change The World?
If I could change the world, I would like to be a superhero who can erase every invention that is actually bad for the planet. As for my superhero name, I'm still thinking about it. 😀

How do you feel about putting pineapple on pizza?
It's fine but I'm not a big fan of it. I usually have a bite but later on find myself removing some pineapples. 😀

Schnitzel or Tonkatsu? and why?
Tonkatsu! I love those katsu sets at Japanese restaurants. I also enjoy having my little bowl of sesame seeds and mixing them with the tonkatsu sauce. Just thinking about it makes me hungry. Haha!
